Courses

The Center on KTDRR hosts courses on topics such as: business outreach, autism and employment, adult learning, and students with disabilities and employment. These courses include those that the Center on Knowledge Translation for Employment Research (KTER Center) developed when it was housed from 2015-2020 at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) along with the Center on KTDRR.

Business Outreach

Business Outreach

The purpose of this four-part training is to learn more about communicating with businesses to develop partnerships with vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies. Note that the learning checks its modules reference have been removed and it is not necessary to do them in order to proceed from one module to another.

Principles of Adult Learning

This course explains adult learning principles. The KTER Center developed it for VR supervisors participating in its knowledge brokering study. The goal of the information was to help them pass on knowledge, from another module describing research-based strategies for better serving their clients, to the VR counselors they supervise. These adult learning principles, however, can apply to any situation where there are adults learning new material to apply to in the workplace. The module and its exercises are designed to take users about an hour to complete.

This course reviews the basics about Autism Spectrum Disorder, (ASD) and research-based practices VR counselors can use to improve their clients' employment outcomes. The module and its resources are designed to take users about an hour to complete.
