KTER Center - Knowledge Translation for Employment Research

As we begin a new year, we’re excited to welcome you to the very first edition of the Center on Knowledge Translation for Employment Research (KTER Center) newsletter, KTER Today. The National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR) funds the KTER Center. Its mission is to make sure that people with disabilities, and other audiences involved in the business of employing people with disabilities, are aware of and use the findings and products that NIDILRR grantees who work on employment have to offer.

In this newsletter, you’ll find updates, resources, and practical takeaways focused on improving employment outcomes for people with disabilities. As we move into the year ahead, we look forward to learning, sharing, and working together to turn research into action.

Technical Assistance Request

The KTER Center provides technical assistance (TA) to NIDILRR-funded employment grantees seeking support with knowledge translation (KT). Whether you need help planning KT activities, identifying strategies for specific audiences, or applying KT approaches to your work, the KTER Center is here to help. TA may include problem-focused meetings, targeted group support, assistance developing a KT plan, and access to web-based resources such as technical briefs, archived webcasts, and social media content. Submit a TA request to start the conversation.

KTER Working Groups

KTER’s Working Groups help guide and strengthen the center’s knowledge translation efforts for employment research. The National Advisory Board provides strategic guidance and reviews research and products, the Business Advisory Council advises on dissemination from a business perspective, and the Employment Grantee Community of Practice (CoP) supports peer learning and practical application of KT strategies. Learn more about each group and how they support KTER’s mission.

Want More Business-related News from KTER?

The KTER Center is assessing interest in a business-focused newsletter designed for business company partners, industry, workforce partners, NIDILRR researchers, members of the workforce and anyone else that wants this forum to share information with each other. The newsletter would highlight business-focused events related to disability employment and practical employment research resources. KTER would produce the newsletter in partnership with the National Employment Team (the NET) of the Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR).

If you are interested in receiving this additional quarterly e-newsletter, please send an email to kter@air.org with the title "KTER- CSAVR/NET Business newsletter interest." We will decide about its publication based on volume of responses.
